A not-for-profit community event presented by the Hanover Writers Chapter of the Virginia Writers Club, the Hanover Book Festival began in 2006 as a project to promote reading. In this age of television, movie, and computer screens, the written page is becoming an anachronism in many people's lives. To encourage and promote reading as an enjoyable experience, the Hanover Book Festival was born.
Mission Statement: To raise community awareness of reading, promote reading, and educate about the processes related to writing books, and to encourage and support Virginia's authors.
